Game Covers – Kikstart (Commodore 64)

Another 3D box, this time it’s Kikstart on the Commodore 64. Released 40 years ago, I first played this on a friends Atari 800XL. We had it on the Commodore Plus 4, but despite it being a good game, it didn’t have the two player mode found on the C64 and Atari versions. It did however make up for that with a larger number of courses to ride on.

I was a bit late to the party with this one. It wasn’t until 2021 when I finally owned an original physical version for my Commodore 64.

Although I prefer the sequel, this is still a very fun game to play and a precursor to the modern Trials series of games on the PlayStation, XBox and PC.

It has also got me thinking about the TV show Kickstart which the game is based on. I loved watching that show as a kid.
